TurboTax Product Redesign for TY 06-07

Description
Turbo Tax is a tax software package designed to guide users through their tax returns step-by-step. The product research for TY05-6 revealed a number of usability problems, especially in the navigation of various choices given to the user in the process. This project aimed to address these problems.
Role
I worked as part of the core Turbo Tax design team on various new features and usability enhancements to the product. As a design intern in the User-Centered Design group. My key contributions included: i) designing from the bottom-up the "bookmarks" feature, and rapidly interating the design through user-feedback ii) brainstorming various design solutions for user-navigation and landing page redesign iii) prototyping in high-fidelity the various navigation concepts for the user-studies.
